Repair or replacement
When should you replace a heating system?
Not every heating problem means you need a new system.
Many repairs involve smaller parts such as thermostats, capacitors,
motors, contactors, wiring, or controls. In those cases we fix what you have.
Other problems are more serious.
Our service records include systems with failed compressors, leaking
coils, bad TXVs, major control problems, and older equipment where
replacement was recommended. In one case, a customer was given a
price for a major repair and a price for a new heat pump. The
customer chose the new system because the replacement cost was close
enough to the repair cost to make replacement the better option.
We look at the whole system before making that recommendation.
